Edward Bawa reassigned from GNPC to GOIL

Edward Bawa, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), has been reassigned by President John Dramani Mahama to the position of Group CEO of GOIL, the country’s top indigenous oil marketing company.

In a move that has drawn a lot of attention, Bawa, who was named head of GNPC on January 16, 2025, to succeed Joseph Dadzie, has now been given the responsibility of leading GOIL.

Metro TV has learned that the appointment is effective immediately, though the reasons for the abrupt reassignment are still unknown.

The GNPC CEO post is now unfilled due to the reorganization, and no replacement has been announced as of yet.

A significant force in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector, GOIL has played a pivotal role in promoting both the nation’s economic expansion and energy security.
