Effutu NDC threatens retaliation over destroyed billboards

Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Effutu Constituency of the Central Region are up in arms over the destruction of their billboards by the Municipal Assembly.

The party’s parliamentary and presidential candidates billboards, belonging to Dr. James Kofi Annan and John Dramani Mahama respectively, were destroyed at the Winneba Junction roundabout last Thursday in the presence of the MCE, Alhaji Kassim Zubeiru.

In retaliation, NDC members destroyed NPP billboards at the same spot. However, police officers were deployed to protect the remaining NPP billboards, sparking outrage among NDC grassroots members.

Party leaders and the Winneba Divisional Police Command struggled to calm down and restrain members from further retaliation.

According to Constituency Secretary, Abraham Henry Arthur, the NDC has no option but to retaliate due to the police’s unsatisfactory handling of the matter.
