Ejisu by-election to be held on April 30

The Ejisu constituency by-election in the Ashanti region has been scheduled for April 30, 2024

The Electoral Commission (EC) announced the date during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, April 9.

This follows the passing of the Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah on March 7, 2024.

In the meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to choose a candidate from nine aspirants on for Saturday, April 13, 2024 at their primary.

These individuals collected forms on Thursday, April 4, to contest in the NPP parliamentary primary for the Ejisu constituency, following the opening of nominations on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

However, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the main opposition party, has not yet disclosed its agenda for the approaching by-election.
