Election 2024: Council of State will be scrapped if Alan wins – George Hamilton

George Hamilton, spokesperson for the Movement for Change, has revealed a key policy of the presidential candidate, Alan Kyerematen, and justified why Ghanaians should vote for him in the 2024 elections.

Speaking on Original TV on the election eve, George Hamilton announced the party’s plans to disassemble the Council of State and introduce a key reform: a second chamber if the leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen, wins the 2024 presidential election.

According to him, Alan Kyeremateng is dedicated to building a unity government focused on competence, integrity, and trust.

George highlighted that under Alan’s leadership, individuals would be employed not only based on qualifications but also to ensure that only competent, capable, character, and integrity-driven leaders would be employed in key positions.

He reiterated this will promote and advance a government where public service is driven by merit.

According to him, it will not be the president’s responsibility to appoint people to key positions. Instead, the second chamber will handle appointments, with members including senior clergy, chiefs, queen mothers, and respected citizens in good standing within their communities. This, he believes, will lead to better governance and policies that benefit all Ghanaians.

He emphasized that these reforms are part of Alan Kyerematen’s broader vision to improve Ghana’s democracy, ensuring that leadership is more accountable and reflective of the people’s needs.
