At the October 1 Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) charged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of not presenting proof for their allegations of an inflated voter registration.
Concerns over the voter registration for 2024 were the main focus of the conference, which was called by the Electoral Commission (EC) and held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
A nationwide protest was held on September 17 to demand a forensic audit of the electoral roll in response to the NDC’s allegations that the register contains inaccurate information and voters who are not qualified.
Notwithstanding these accusations, the NPP said that the NDC blew a vital chance to back up its assertions at the IPAC meeting.
After the meeting, NPP General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua addressed the media and stated that the NDC was unable to produce any evidence of inconsistencies in the register.
“All of you [the media] were here. Tell me, all the presentations that were made by their [the NDC’s] reps, at what point in time did they even give us evidence? Did they give us the data that they turned out? None.
“They started talking about propaganda matters, about a roof that is leaking and using the mop to clean it. Is that why we came here? We came here based on the several allegations that you have made. Why did you run away? Why is the NDC running away?
