New Patriotic Party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, has reinforced his stern message to appointees in the Bono Region, insisting that their positions are not merely a result of their age or qualifications.
Kodua emphasized that every appointee is rooted in a constituency and region, and therefore has a duty to remain engaged with their local base.
The General Secretary’s earlier remarks on Facebook have sparked discussions within the party and the public, raising questions about the unity and effectiveness of the NPP’s campaign efforts in the run-up to the general elections.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the Ashanti Regional Campaign Working Committee and Women’s Conference, the NPP chief scribe expressed his frustration over some appointees’ apparent neglect of their constituencies, warning that he would “name and shame” those who fail to connect with their grassroots.
He also described the NDC’s 35% target in the Ashanti Region as unrealistic, urging the women’s wing to work hard to ensure the party wins the upcoming elections.
