The Ghana Police Service has unequivocally refuted accusations that militias are being trained in Kwahu, Eastern Region, in anticipation of the general elections in 2024.
The Police stated in a brief statement that they had looked into these claims and had found no evidence to corroborate them.
“The Police have commenced an investigation to identify those behind the false publication to come and answer for their actions in line with the due process of the law.”
The Ghana Police Service also urged everyone to use caution when communicating and forewarned against the publication and spread of false information.
“We wish to caution the public against the publication and dissemination of fake news.”
