Election 2024: Vice President Bawumia votes in Walewale

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 elections, has voted in the North East Region’s Walewale constituency.

The Ghanaian presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia, cast his ballot at his hometown polling place. Since it is his birthplace, the North East Region’s Walewale constituency has great sentimental significance for him.

His presence there is thought to increase voter turnout, which will help the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in the constituency as well as his presidential campaign.

On Friday evening, he arrived in his hometown of Walewale in time for the Saturday, December 7, 2024, elections.

After serving as President Akufo-Addo’s vice president for the previous eight years, Dr. Bawumia is making his first appearance on the ballot in an attempt to succeed him.

Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s candidate, has positioned himself as the leader who can guide Ghana through its present difficulties by running on a platform of job creation, digital transformation, and economic recovery. In the event that he is elected at the conclusion of the 2024 election cycle, his vote today represents a significant turning point in his quest to become Ghana’s first Muslim president.
