Ethiopian Airlines flight ETH8719 has landed in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, at the Prempeh I International Airport.
The plane landed on Friday, December 6, 2024, at around 10:30 a.m.
Following its international status, it is the first international flight to land at the airport.
This is a component of Ghana’s larger objective to improve the air transportation system, especially for locations outside of Accra, the country’s capital.
At the airport, amid drumming and dance, some traditional leaders from the Kumasi Metropolis were present to greet the travelers.
The first direct flight from London Gatwick to Kumasi Prempeh I International Airport has a major change in the timetable, according to the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
The GACL blamed the postponement on short notice for the direct flight’s delayed start, which was originally scheduled for December 3, 2024.
The first flight is a component of a large-scale new project that highlights Kumasi’s increasing significance as a Ghanaian transport hub.
Ghanaians responded to the announcement and the ensuing delay in different ways on social media, with some speculating that it was a fake.
