Fire guts two shops at Tudu

A fire outbreak at Tudu in Accra on Saturday (March 8) morning destroyed two shops on the fourth floor of a commercial building.

The incident is the latest in a series of fire outbreaks that have ravaged marketplaces across Ghana, resulting in significant losses for traders and vendors. The causes of these fires are often attributed to electrical faults, gas explosions, and other human factors.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) quickly responded to the incident, deploying three fire tenders to bring the fire under control.

Divisional Officer I (DOI) Alex King Nartey, Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, commended the firefighters for their swift response.

“Due to the timely intervention of our fire tenders, this whole building has been salvaged from the fire,” he said.

The fire has been contained, and no casualties have been reported.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
