A group of former appointees of President John Dramani Mahama have made a significant contribution to his campaign, donating Ghc400,000 to support his bid for the presidency in the upcoming December 7th elections.
The group, known as the Get Mahama Elected Action Group, presented the cash to Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to President Mahama, at the former president’s office in Cantonments on Monday, December 2.
Edward Ato Sarpong, leader of the group and former deputy minister for communications, said the donation is a testament to their confidence in President Mahama’s ability to lead the country out of its current challenges.
“Ghana is facing unprecedented challenges, including an economy in crisis, unsustainable debt levels, soaring unemployment, and unbridled corruption,” Ato Sarpong said.
“We have confidence that President Mahama will restore fiscal discipline, end impunity, and bring about the needed change when elected as the next president,” he added.
Ato Sarpong also expressed his certainty that President Mahama will emerge victorious in the upcoming elections, based on data gathered by the group.
“We are certain that the NDC will form the majority in the next parliament,” he added.
Dr. Callistus Mahama, on behalf of President Mahama, thanked the group for their continuous mobilization and support.
