Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the MP for Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), thinks that the government’s 2017 introduction of the Free SHS program is one of the most audacious moves in Ghanaian history.
As part of a campaign pledge given to Ghanaians ahead of the 2012 and 2016 elections, the Akufo-Addo administration initiated the pro-poor education program seven years ago.
The program was implemented with roughly 400,000 kids nationwide. As of right now, the initiative has benefited an estimated 2.2 million youth.
“I genuinely believe that Free Senior High School education is essential for the progress of this nation; it is not merely a political stance. It is among the most audacious and obvious choices any government has made on behalf of the people, in my opinion,”Alexander Akwasi Acquah exclusively told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM 91.9.
“I consider President Akufo-Addo’s approach to be commendable for Ghana due to its philosophical clarity,” he added.
