Frimpong Manso plays down title hopes despite GoldStars’ unbeaten run

Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Stephen Frimpong Manso has chosen to concentrate on the present instead of feeling the pressure of title discussions just eight games into the season.

GoldStars remain unbeaten in the Ghana Premier League and sit top of the table after eight games, with five wins and three draws so far. Despite the decent starts, Frimpong Manso has downplayed his side’s chances of winning the title.

“We will continue to work hard to get the results. Now the results are coming, and if we can maintain that performance, we still need to work hard,” Manso said after the game.

“We are going into the ninth week, so we still have a long way to go.

“I don’t have to put pressure on myself at this time. It is too early to be thinking about that.”

Bibiani GoldStars’ most recent win came against Hearts of Oak, securing a 1-0 win courtesy a second half goal from Kumi Attah.

Reflecting on the game, Manso said: “I am excited because this is our first away win.”

“We’ve been drawing in our last three away games, and now in the fourth one, we’ve got a win, so I’m very satisfied and very happy with the result,” he added.

Bibiani GoldStars’ next league game will be against struggling Dreams FC at DUN’s Park in Bibiani.
