Prices for petroleum products at the pump have been reduced by some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) as of today, January 1, 2024.
Thus far, Star Oil has taken the lead in offering a liter of petrol for GH¢11.24 instead of GH¢12.69, and a liter of diesel for GH¢11.24 instead of GH¢11.69.
It is expected that in the next several hours, other significant Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) would do the same and lower their fuel prices.
Previous statements from a number of OMCs suggested that the cedi’s stability over the previous two weeks and the continuous drop in refined petroleum product prices on the international market had an impact on the decision to lower rates.
