GFP names Roman Fada as new presidential candidate

The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has officially nominated broadcaster Philip Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada as its new presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, replacing the late Akua Donkor.

This comes after the Electoral Commission directed the party to nominate a new candidate within ten days, pursuant to Article 40(4) of the 1992 Constitution.

In a letter addressed to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, the GFP stated, “I hereby write to inform the Commission that the party has duly nominated Mr. Philip Appiah Kubi to replace our late Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections.”

The letter further assured that the nomination of the new candidate will be filed within the stipulated time frame, in accordance with the law.
