Ghana qualifies for 2024 Paris Olympics 4x100m men’s relay

In the men’s 4×100-meter relay on Sunday, May 4, Ghana earned an automatic qualifying to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The Ghanaian team recovered from a botched baton drop on Day One of the World Relays in the Bahamas with an outstanding effort, setting a season-best time of 38.29 seconds to secure first place.

The team of Joseph Paul Amoah, Isaac Botsio, Ibrahim Fuseini, and Benjamin Azamati competed in Heat Two of the second Olympic qualifying round on Day Two against strong opponents from Nigeria, Korea, Saudi Arabia, the Dominican Republic, and the Netherlands.

Team Ghana had a great start as Fuseini raced out of the starting blocks and sent the baton to Botsio with ease.

As Azamati led them through the third leg with great teamwork, they passed the baton to Amoah to keep their lead intact.

Amoah blasted ahead on the anchor leg, mirroring his incredible 2023 African Games performance.

Ghana won thanks to Joe Paul’s spectacular run, which spectacularly booked their ticket to Paris.
