Ghana’s inflation drops to 23.2% from 26.4% in December 2023

Inflation has decreased for the seventh straight month, with a rate of 23.2% for December 2023.

This indicates that there was a 23.2% increase in the general price level in December 2023 compared to December 2022.

Between November 2023 and December 2023, there was 1.2 percent monthly inflation.

Data from the Consumer Price Index (CPI) were announced on Wednesday, January 10. The inflation rate for food was 28.7 percent, while the inflation rate for non-food items was 18.7 percent.

The rate of inflation for goods made domestically was 23.8 percent, while the rate for goods imported was 21.9 percent.

Geographically speaking, the Upper East had the lowest food inflation rate of 18.8%, while the Eastern region had the highest rate of 51.3 percent.

Out of the 16 regions, Greater Accra came in at number 14 with a food inflation rate of 22.2%.
