The Ministry of Roads and Highways has said that road and bridge tolls will be reinstated in an attempt to raise money for road upkeep and other associated projects.
The Ministry reassured the public in a statement dated Thursday, February 6, 2025, that it intends to install a cutting-edge, technologically advanced toll collection system to guarantee effectiveness and ease.
The announcement said that more information about the new system’s modalities and specifics would be released soon.
“To achieve this objective, the Ministry will employ an open, transparent, competitive, cost-effective and fair procurement process.”
The Ministry also reassured the public that it is committed to implementing a modernized system that tackles the nation’s present funding issues for road maintenance and tolling.
