Gov’t allocates additional GHS25 million to WAEC for timely release of results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has received an additional GH₵25 million from the Ministry of Education to support its operations and guarantee the seamless continuation of marking activities.

This funding increase is intended to help WAEC overcome its current difficulties and hasten the publication of the results of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

In a statement released on Monday, December 23, Ministry of Education spokesperson Kwasi Kwarteng confirmed the funds’ release and reassured the public that WAEC has promised to disclose the WASSCE results shortly.

It is anticipated that this action will ease some of WAEC’s budgetary strains and make it easier for them to finish their marking procedures on schedule.

Parents, students, and educational institutions who have been anxiously expecting the results are relieved to receive the additional funds.
