John Dumelo, the Deputy Minister-Designate for food and agriculture, has declared that he is not a part of any secret societies inside the Catholic Church.
When he appeared before the Appointments Committee on February 25, 2025, the Deputy Minister nominee brought the rosary with him to the vetting and declared that he is a devout Catholic.
However, Dumelo strongly denied membership in any Catholic fraternity or society when asked by Minority Leader Afenyo-Markin if he is a member.
“I don’t belong to any society in the catholic church,” Dumelo noted.
The Ayawaso West-Wuogon MP clarified that he is aware of the various Catholic church associations but that he is unaware of their operations.
“I am familiar with them but not familiar with their dealings,” Dumelo added.
Christian principles are promoted by a variety of institutions or organizations within the Catholic church. Among them are Freemasonry, the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, and the Knights and Ladies of St. John.
