I’ll provide incentives to churches and mosques when I become President – Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana and the leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that he wants the government and religious institutions to work together more closely.

He highlighted the important roles that faith-based institutions, including churches and Islamic organizations, have played in constructing the country’s hospitals and schools.

According to Dr. Bawumia, these groups ought to be regarded as development partners as they have accomplished more for Ghana than a large number of outside partners.

Through the provision of incentives to faith-based organizations, Dr. Bawumia hopes to usher in a “golden age” of collaboration between the government and these groups.

“That golden age means we are going to give incentives to the faith based organizations to help government. There are lot of incentives we give to our external development partners. They bring in things duty free and so on but they don’t do as much for us as the faith based organizations. I am going to give a lot of incentives to the faith based organizations to help government”.
