Richard Ahiagbah, the National Communications Director for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized President John Dramani Mahama for being silent over the vandalism that took place during a Ghana Premier League game between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman.
Francis Yaw Frimpong, frequently known as Pooley, was a staunch supporter of Kotoko who was stabbed following an altercation in the event, which drew worldwide attention.
The NPP’s Director of Communications said on social media on Wednesday, February 5, that the president shouldn’t keep quiet about a situation that jeopardizes the nation’s security and football.
“H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic Ghana, has not said a word for 72 hours and counting after Francis Yaw Frimpong alias Pooley was killed in cold blood after a football match in Nsoatre in the Bono Region.
“The media would be up in arms if Akufo-Addo were president. President Mahama must prioritize all citizens and show care for Francis Yaw Frimpong?”his post read.
He further emphasized that if former President Akufo-Addo had been in charge, the media would have put more pressure on the president.
