The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched a unity campaign, urging all patriotic citizens, especially the youth, women, and first-time voters, to join forces with the party to rescue the country from the failed New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
According to the NDC, the current government has failed to deliver on its promises, leaving the economy in shambles, youth unemployment at an all-time high, and the quality of education and healthcare systems in decline.
“The NDC is committed to partnering with you to ensure a fair and transparent election process. Let us unite behind the NDC and wage a successful 2024 election campaign to bring about the change we seek,” the party said in a statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
The NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, has been urged to lead the charge, with his vision for a prosperous, inclusive Ghana, combined with his unparalleled experience, making him the ideal candidate.
“Ghanaians are burdened with excessive taxes, businesses are struggling to survive, and hope and dignity of our people are at their lowest ebb. But we have a leader who can change this narrative. John Mahama is the leader Ghana needs,” the statement quoted.
The party noted that during Mahama’s previous tenure, he achieved significant improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education, and his administration was marked by transparency and accountability.
“John Mahama embodies integrity, credibility, and a commitment to public service – essential qualities to restore hope and drive meaningful change in Ghana. Vote for John Mahama to build a better future,” the statement urged.
The NDC has also called on all citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious deeds, as the party is aware of the NPP’s desperation to cling to power and subvert the will of the people.
“Let us unite behind the NDC and build the Ghana we want. Together, we can do this for God and country, for the destiny of Mother Ghana, and for posterity and our unborn children,” the statement concluded.
