Kadjebi District records high HIV/AIDS cases

The Kadjebi District Health Directorate in the Oti Region reported 55 HIV/AIDS cases in 2024, with 41 females and 14 males.

At the 2024 Annual Performance Review Meeting in Kadjebi, Eric Nana Takyi, the District Director of Health Services for Kadjebi, revealed this information and added that 262 patients are presently receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Because women are more susceptible to the virus than males, he urged locals to be cautious of their sexual health.

The district has had no maternal deaths for three years running, according to Nana Takyi, who spoke about maternal healthcare.

Additionally, he stated that the Kadjebi District was named the Best Maternal Care District and came second in the Oti Region at the 2023 Districts Performance Review Meeting.

In addition, thirty medical employees received recognition for their exceptional contributions to the district’s healthcare system.
