Mr. Kwasi Agyei, the Deputy Controller and Accountant General (CAG), has been named by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the acting Controller and Accountant General for the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) in light of Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem’s resignation.
On Monday, April 15, 2024, Mr. Kwasi Agyei assumed office.
Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem, the immediate past Controller and Accountant-General, expressed his delight with the nomination of a new acting CAG from inside the department during a brief handover ceremony held at the Treasury Head Office.

In addition, Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem expressed his gratitude to the Department’s personnel, “from top management to the least person,” for their tremendous assistance, and he urged them to provide the same kindness to Mr. Agyei, the new acting CAG.
He expressed his gratitude to President Akuffo-Addo, the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, the Head of Service, and every employee of the Department for their support and for providing him with the chance to serve the country through the CAGD.
Mr. Kwasi Agyei, the newly appointed interim CAG, thanked Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem for his “exceptional leadership, from which he has learned a lot.”
