Mahama slams Bawumia over 50 questions; describes them as useless

Former President John Dramani Mahama has unloaded on Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for evading key economic questions during a recent political discourse.

Speaking to supporters ahead of the December 7 polls, Mahama likened Bawumia’s responses to nursery rhymes, suggesting that the Vice President’s focus on irrelevant issues demonstrates a lack of accountability regarding the country’s pressing economic challenges.

Mahama highlighted his call for straightforward answers to five critical questions concerning the economy, emphasizing that Ghanaians are more interested in substantial economic policies than in discussions about infrastructure projects, such as compost plants.

He referenced the famous political adage from the 1992 U.S. election, stating, “It’s about the economy, stupid,” underscoring his belief that economic stability should be the primary focus of the upcoming elections.

“Today, I’m repeating those words,” Mahama asserted. “Ghanaians are asking simple questions that need simple answers. You have destroyed the economy, and it’s time to face the reality.”

He challenged Bawumia to address these economic issues directly, reiterating that the nation deserves transparency and accountability from its leaders.
