A National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving planning committee will soon be established, according to President Mahama, following discussions with the Minister of Local Government and Religious Affairs.
On February 5, 2025, the President announced that July 1st would be observed as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.
“I shall soon initiate consultations through the Minister for Local Government and Religious Affairs to set up a planning committee for the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving,” the President said during his speech at a Fellowship with the Clergy on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the AICC.
Speaking to National Democratic Congress (NDC) chiefs, citizens, and supporters in the Western Region, President Mahama stated“July 1 will be observed as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, allowing Ghanaians to reflect and express appreciation for the nation’s progress.”
He explained that “We will have the opportunity as a nation soon to pray and give thanks to the Almighty God, as enjoined by the Holy Book that says, ‘In all things, give thanks.”
