McDan Aviation refutes GACL’s claim of $3m debt

McDan Aviation has expressed disappointment over the Ghana Airport Company Limited’s (GACL) decision to deny access to its terminal, citing unsettled debts.

In a press statement made available to Metro TV, McDan Aviation acknowledged its financial responsibilities regarding the use and operation of the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at the terminal, stating that it has made significant payments previously.

The company further revealed that it made an additional payment last week, with plans to continue payments from January 2025.

However, McDan Aviation disputed GACL’s claim that it owes $3,000,000.00, describing the report as “erroneous.”

The company also clarified that it is currently involved in a legal dispute concerning a parcel of land acquired from GACL on the Spintex Road, which has resulted in court proceedings.

According to McDan Aviation, GACL is aware of the situation, and payments will remain on hold until the court case is fully resolved.

“It is regrettable that GACL has chosen to take this line of action, particularly when the matters at hand are not interconnected,” the statement said.

Despite the disagreement, McDan Aviation expressed its commitment to engaging in constructive dialogue to achieve a favorable resolution.
