The Minority in Parliament will boycott today’s parliamentary proceedings in a show of solidarity with their suspended colleagues, Metro TV has gathered.
This move comes after efforts to reverse the Speaker of Parliament’s decision to suspend three MPs proved unsuccessful.
The situation has taken an unusual turn, with barricades mounted at the main entrance of the chamber.
This is not the first time a Minority caucus has employed this tactic. In July 2023, the then Minority skipped a parliamentary meeting in solidarity with two of their members who were standing trial.
Similarly, in a separate incident, the NDC Minority boycotted parliamentary proceedings until the Supreme Court delivered its judgment on a contentious issue surrounding four vacant seats.
