The family of the late Dr. Mustapha Ahmed were in Parliament to inform Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin about his demise and invite him to the Adua Prayer which is scheduled for 10th March,2024 national mosque.
Hon. Yusif Jajah, who is the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North Constituency accompanied the delegation and accordingly introduced them to Speaker Bagbin.
The delegation led by Lt Col Sandah Ahmed briefing the Speaker indicated, that the late Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, the former Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East Constituency and Minister of Youth and Sports in the Mahama administration, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
He had previously also served as the Deputy Minister for Water Resources, Works, and Housing under the late Prof. Atta Mill’s administration.
According to him, the 63-year-old Dentist who had an illustrious career as a soldier and politician had reportedly travelled to India to seek for medical intervention but it was not successful.
Speaker Bagbin on behalf of Parliament expressed his deepest condolences to the widow, children and extended family. He used the opportunity to extol his virtues and described the late Dr. Ahmed as a brother, a good friend and a gentleman’s gentleman.
He further indicated that he will be remembered as a highly respected figure who made significant contributions to both the political and societal spheres of Ghana.
The Speaker assured the family that, Parliament led by him will fully participate in the Adua Prayers.
