The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has applauded the NPP leadership within the Akwatia Constituency for uniting themselves ahead of the upcoming elections.
Wrapping up his week-long campaign tour to the Eastern Region, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh visited the Akwatia constituency, once an NPP stronghold which went to the NDC in the 2020 elections.
Addressing a stakeholders engagement at Akyem Wenchi, a town within the Constituency, Dr. Opoku Prempeh noted that divisions within the Constituency affected the party in last elections and that he was happy to see all the divided factions together on the same stage, pledging to support to win the seat back.
Meanwhile former MP for Akwatia, Mercy Adu Gyamfi (Ama Sey) said he will not be distracted by unfounded allegations against him by some people within the Constituency in an attempt to make her angry and sit back again.
She said she is fully committed to working to ensure victory for the NPP in the upcoming elections.
National Women’s Organizer of the NPP, Kate Gyamfua called for unity among the rank and file of the Constituency to ensure that the party recapture the seat in December.
