NDC requests emergency meeting with EC over voter exhibition discrepancies

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to convene an emergency meeting to address “very serious discrepancies” uncovered during the ongoing voter exhibition exercise.

In a letter to the EC Chairperson, NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, expressed concerns over inconsistencies between the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) and exhibition center records.

“We write to request an important emergency meeting with you and your team to discuss very serious discrepancies discovered during the ongoing 2024 voter exhibition exercise,” the letter stated.

The NDC cited discrepancies emanating from analysis of the PVR and exhibition center registers, prompting concerns over the integrity of the electoral process.

“We anticipate a favourable and timely response as we work towards free, fair, and transparent elections,” Kwetey emphasized.

The opposition party’s call for an emergency meeting underscores the need for prompt attention to these discrepancies to ensure a credible electoral process.
