NPP Communicator Calls For Level-Playing Field For Upcoming Primaries

Government Communications Team Member, Eric Okyei Baffour, is calling for a level-playing field for all contestants in the party’s upcoming parliamentary and presidential primaries.

This, he explained, would ensure that the right persons would emerge as the party’s candidates for the next elections.

Eric Okyei Baffour told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM 91.9  that if the leadership of the party are able to ensure fair play in the process, the Presidential and the Parliamentary Candidates who will be elected would resonate well with the masses to ensure a resounding electoral victory in the 2024 elections.

On the delegates who will be voting, Eric Okyei Baffour advised them not get carried away by monetary and other enticements by aspirants in making the right decision on the voting day.

“We must look out for someone who is very marketable and can secure us a resounding victory, landslide victory come 2024 as the NPP Presidential Candidate”, he said.

He also added: “The current situation where we have a hang-parliament should be a wake-up call to the delegates in choosing parliamentary candidates. To have a clear majority in parliament, I’ll appeal to delegates to select people who are capable of winning their respective parliamentary seats for the party. That’s the most important thing.”

“I think one issue that the leadership of the party must keep an eye on is the camping of delegates by some aspirants in hotels with the view to induce them to get their votes. I think this must be stopped as it breeds corruption and encourages monetization of the election process and we must guard against it”, he further said.
