The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, has maintained that she emerged victorious in the constituency’s parliamentary elections.
Speaking at the collation centre in Accra on Wednesday, Afriyie expressed her determination to ensure that the truth prevails in the electoral process.
According to her, the electoral process in the constituency has been marred by controversies, but she is confident that her victory will be upheld.
“We have 281 polling stations in Ablekuma North, and I have scanned all the pink sheets. I am leading comfortably, and I know I won,” Nana Akua Afriyie declared.
Her comments come as the Returning Officer for the Ablekuma North Constituency, Vincent Obeng, announced his decision to discontinue the collation of results in the area.
Mt. Obeng cited frustrations encountered during the collation process and informed the Electoral Commission (EC) to find a replacement.
