PARLIAMENT ADOPTS AD HOC COMMITTEE REPORT ON IGP LEAKED TAPE

Parliament has adopted the report of the Ad Hoc Committee tasked to investigate the leaked tape revealing the plot to remove the current Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
The report which was signed by five members on the Committee was adopted after a voice vote in favour of the adoption.
The report among others recommended that three Senior Police Officers namely COP Alex George Mensah, Supt. George Lysander Asare and Supt. Emmanuel Eric Gyebi, who appear to have misconducted themselves, hence, must be sanctioned in accordance with Police disciplinary procedures.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin then directed that the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Cyril Oteng Nsiah, to make available a copy of the report to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, for any further action.
