Plumber jailed 12 years for sextortion

An Accra Circuit Court has found a 26-year-old hairstylist and plumber guilty of sexual extortion and sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

According to reports, Philip Spain Narh promised to help a 19-year-old SHS graduate become a web designer in exchange for anal and vaginal sex.

The victim was unaware that Narh had videotaped his sexual encounter with her and posted the explicit images online in an attempt to blackmail her.

He was accused of seven counts of obscene material publication or sale, unlawful possession of narcotic drugs, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, and sexual extortion.

Narh entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.

However, following a full trial, he was found guilty.

According to the prosecution’s facts presented in court, the Complainant (Name withheld) is a 19-year-old recent senior high school graduate who resides in the Greater Accra Region’s Kpone neighborhood, close to Tema, with her parents.

The 26-year-old hairstylist and plumber Narh, whose real name is Sharon Stuttgart Woods, lives with his father in Bawaleshie, which is close to Dodowa.

The complainant first encountered the inmate in late 2020 through the online social media site Telegrarm, where she met a girl named Delphine.
