Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah, has strongly criticized the police for their inaction against illegal mining.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, he expressed frustration over the police’s claims of ignorance regarding the whereabouts of illegal miners.
“People know the truth, they simply will not say the truth,” Adomako-Mensah said.
“People know what to do but they say they don’t know what to do. The word is illegal miners, so the police want to tell me that they don’t know where the illegal miners are?” he questioned.
The Afigya Kwabre North MP questioned how institutions tasked with enforcing the law could deny knowledge of these illicit activities, emphasizing that illegal mining is a well-known issue.
