Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has attributed the club’s recent struggles in the Ghana Premier League to the poor treatment of its former players.
According to Polo, this lack of respect has led to the club’s difficulties, including their battles to avoid relegation over the past two seasons.
Speaking on Bryt FM, Polo expressed his disappointment with how Hearts of Oak has treated its legends, drawing comparisons with the club’s arch-rivals, Asante Kotoko, and major European teams.
“Poor treatment of players is affecting Hearts of Oak. I have been denied several opportunities by the club, and I think bad treatment of players has contributed to their recent struggles. Honestly, they lack God’s blessings,” Polo remarked.
Polo further praised Asante Kotoko for their approach, saying, “Asante Kotoko are better off in giving their legends opportunities. In Europe, clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, and others always include their legends, and it is hard to learn from them.”
After a challenging start to the season, Hearts of Oak recently secured their first win and will aim to maintain this momentum when they face Nations FC this weekend.
