Major General Bismark Onwona has been replaced as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC).
It comes after his appointment as the Commandant of the Training and Doctrine Command of the Ghana Armed Forces and advancement to the rank of Major General.
Colonel Isaac Amponsah, the new ADC to the President, takes over for General Onwona.
After being spotted standing behind the President at numerous engagements, Colonel Amponsah appears to have started work on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
Colonel Amponsah served as Chief G2 (Intelligence) at Ghana Army Headquarters prior to being appointed ADC to the President.
He was in charge of gathering, compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating intelligence and/or information to Army Headquarters and Ghana Army commands and units.
In addition, he carried out security threat analyses and updated the Chief of Army Staff on both internal and external threats to the country’s security.
His duties included investigating security breaches and weaknesses in the Ghana Army and notifying the Chief of Army Staff for remedial action and supervising the training of the Intelligence staff of the Ghana Army.
