President Mahama appoints Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as new EOCO boss

Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah has been named an acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) by President John Dramani Mahama.

Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, signed a letter on January 23 confirming the appointment, which became effective on Monday, January 27, 2025.

The decision, which was made in compliance with Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804) and Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution, is pending the constitutionally mandated advice of the Governing Board of EOCO after consulting with the Public Services Commission.

Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah takes Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s place and is anticipated to apply his experience to EOCO’s strategic operations, guaranteeing efficient law enforcement and bolstering the battle against organized crime.
