President Mahama dissolves statutory boards, corporations

President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved all members of statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils appointed by the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration

The decision was made pursuant to the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845) provides a framework for the transition, including the cessation of appointments made by the outgoing President or Minister of State.

The notice excludes commissions that are independent constitutional creations.

The affected boards, commissions, councils, and statutory corporations will be reconstituted according to their respective enabling laws.

President Mahama took the opportunity to thank the affected members for their service, wishing them well in their future endeavors.

The managements of these bodies have been directed to seek clearance from the Chief of Staff before making any major decisions.
