Presidential convoy accident: Akufo-Addo safe and well

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is safe and healthy, the Presidency has confirmed, after a tragic accident involving vehicles in his convoy resulted in one death and several injuries.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the accident occurred on the Accra-Kumasi Highway while the convoy was returning from Kumasi, where the President had attended the funeral of the late Ejisu MP and Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Kumah.

Fortunately, President Akufo-Addo was not in the convoy at the time of the accident, having returned to Accra via military aircraft.

The deceased, Mr. Kwesi Atta, was a driver in the convoy. Several close protection and police officers from the President’s security detail sustained varying degrees of injuries and are receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

The Presidency has expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured officers.

The cause of the accident is still unknown and is being investigated by the authorities.

Despite the tragic incident, the Presidency has reassured the public that President Akufo-Addo’s safety is guaranteed, and he continues to perform his duties as usual.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have speculated that the accident involving the President’s convoy may have been caused by spiritual forces, possibly related to the late John Kumah.

However, Metrotvonline.com wishes to emphasize that we cannot verify or substantiate these claims, as they fall outside the realm of factual reporting and into the domain of spiritual beliefs. We are not experts in spiritual matters and therefore cannot confirm or deny such speculation.
