Rehabilitation of 33.4KM Ofankor- Nsawam Road Project progresses steadily

Asphalt works have begun on the 33.4km Ofankor-Nsawam Rehabilitation project.
The contractor has started asphaltic work on the Pokuase to Amasaman stretch and is expected to continue with the Railway bridge to Pokuase and then the China Mall to Pobiman sections in the coming weeks.
The contractor has assured the government that the 17.4km main carriageway section of the project will be open to traffic by early September this year.
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, inspected the progress of work on the project on Thursday, 12th July 2024.
He indicated that the government receives daily reports from the public on the inconvenience motorists face due to the ongoing construction work.
He urged the contractor to stick to the remedial works plan for the remaining period of the project.
Hon. Asenso-Boakye also directed the contractor to liaise with the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) for a a dedicated towing vehicle to be stationed on the corridor to attend to vehicles that break down in order to mitigate the severe traffic situation.
