Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Samuel Nartey George, has cautioned government officials, directing them to cease signing contracts on the (ghana.gov) platform with immediate effect.
In a public service notice posted on Facebook on Thursday, December 12, Sam George cautioned that the incoming administration would not honor any contracts signed after the elections and backdated.
“The incoming administration would not respect any contracts signed post elections and back dated,” he warned.
Sam George also revealed that the incoming National Democratic Congress administration is closely monitoring all activities related to the signing and backdating of contracts.
“We are monitoring all activities currently underway regarding the signing and backdating of contracts. Notice is duly served,” he stated.
This comes as the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for a transition of power following the recent presidential elections that saw former President John Mahama emerge as the winner.
The Electoral Commission (EC) on Monday, December 9, declared Mahama as the president-elect with 6,328,397 votes cast representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast, defeating his primary rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes representing 41.61%.
