Supreme Court dismisses another application to halt Amenfi Central election

An application for an interim injunction to halt the Amenfi Central Parliamentary election was denied by the Supreme Court.

In an attempt to reverse the ruling that had revoked the injunction against the party and the Electoral Commission (EC), the plaintiffs in a case against the NDC and Joana Cudjoe Gyan at the Sekondi High Court filed a certiorari application with the Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 4.

On Thursday, December 5, Justice Yonni Kulendi, the only judge assigned to the case, heard the ex parte application.

He did, however, reject the application, allowing the Amenfi Central election to proceed as planned.

After the Sekondi High Court ruled on Monday, November 11, 2024, that the injunction preventing Joana Gyan Cudjoe from running in the parliamentary election was lifted, the plaintiffs took their most recent action.
