Security personnel successfully defused a tense situation at a polling station in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency when voters became agitated due to the delayed commencement of voting procedures.
The voting exercise, originally scheduled to begin at 7:00 am, was delayed by nearly an hour, finally starting at 7:55 am. The delay sparked frustration among early-morning voters who had arrived at the polling station before dawn to cast their ballots.
Three security officers stationed at the location demonstrated professionalism by effectively managing the growing tension. They engaged with the concerned voters, maintained order, and ensured the situation did not escalate into any serious disturbance.
Electoral officials promptly began processing voters once the necessary materials and preparations were complete. Despite the initial setback, voting has since proceeded smoothly, with citizens exercising their democratic right in an orderly manner.
The quick response and efficient handling of the situation by security personnel has been commended by both election observers and voters present at the scene.
As of now, voting continues without further interruption, and electoral officials are working to ensure all registered voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots within the stipulated time frame.
