The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Wednesday August 7, 2024, met with Angela Tabiri, a young mathematician from Ghana and current World’s Most Interesting Mathematician, in Accra.
He has noted that listening to her was a delight listening to her, “as she explained how with a strong mindset of possibilities and achievement, she persevered through the many challenges of shining in the traditionally male-dominated Maths environment, rising each time to the occasion and confounding naysayers”.
Dr. Bawumia has expressed joy as Angela has been recognized for her groundbreaking work in the field of mathematics and her innovative approach to solving complex mathematical problems.
The competition saw 15 other mathematicians from across the world, including lecturers, researchers, writers and business owners.
