The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on May 17, 2024, visited Kejetia, a mining community in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region, as part of his ongoing nationwide community outreach.
He has met with the Chiefs and people of the Kejetia community, where he shared his vision for Ghana with them if elected President, which include formalizing the small-scale mining sector and granting them license to operate, as well as supporting them with equipment and other facilities.

Vice President Bawumia to formalize small-scale mining when elected into office
The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on May 17, 2024, visited Kejetia, a mining community in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region, as part of his ongoing nationwide community outreach.
He has met with the Chiefs and people of the Kejetia community, where he shared his vision for Ghana with them if elected President, which include formalizing the small-scale mining sector and granting them license to operate, as well as supporting them with equipment and other facilities.
Dr. Bawumia further added that, “My government will also establish the Minerals Development Bank to support the mining industry, just as the Agric Development Bank does for the agriculture sector.”
In another event in Bolgatanga dubbed, “Bawumia Youth Connect”, he has had a fruitful engaging session with the youth where he welcomed their questions as well as their contributions to his presentation.
Dr. Bawumia has expressed appreciation for warm reception he received from the Chiefs and people of Kejetia.
