The New Patriotic Party (NPP) members and parliamentary candidates have been urged by Majority Leader in Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin to vigorously campaign in order to win both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He emphasized that virtually equal numbers of members in Parliament made governing challenging for the present Akufo-Addo administration. Under a Bawumia president, Afenyo-Markin stressed, this circum
“Enough of the reconciliation, go out there and fight for the party,” he declared, rallying supporters to intensify their efforts.
In spite of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) attempts to portray him as conceited, he also voiced his faith in Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP flagbearer’s running mate, emphasizing his capacity to help reform Ghana.
Afenyo-Markin recalled that during President Akufo-Addo’s campaign, the NDC tried the same thing, but it was unsuccessful.
“We know you tagged Akufo-Addo also as arrogance but it didn’t work He is ready to transform Ghana with arrogance,” he said during the launch of the NPP manifesto on Sunday, August 18.
