We’ve created 2.6 million jobs since 2017 – Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has emphasized the Akufo-Addo administration’s accomplishments in creating jobs, asserting that they have surpassed earlier administrations in this regard.

The government has created about 2.6 million employment, with 1.4 million in the private sector and 1.2 million in the public sector, according to figures from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and other sources, which Dr. Bawumia highlighted.

He underlined that this accomplishment shows the government’s dedication to bolstering Ghana’s economy and increasing opportunities for its people.

Dr. Bawumia informed the public that if elected in the December elections, he will continue to create jobs despite admitting the present economic difficulties.

“We have done a remarkable job in creating jobs in the last seven years, indeed so far, as of yesterday or a day before…I checked the data from SSNIT and other sources and so far, between 2017 and 2024, the latest data is that we have created 2.6 million jobs.

“1.4 in the private sector and 1.2 in the public sector. This is the highest of any government in the 4th Republic and the highest job creation. We have more to do because we still have high unemployment. Our youth still need jobs,” Bawumia said during his Engagement with the Youth in Accra on Sunday, November 3.
